Advanced Carpenter –

Finishes & Trim Specialist

Project Based | Randolph, VT and Essex Junction, VT (including regional travel)

Hello! We are New Frameworks, a worker-owned cooperative of passionate, creative, and mission-driven people building ecological and social climate justice in the construction trades. We utilize natural, local, and plant-based materials in high-performance designs, and foster equitable, respectful workplaces. Our team culture is founded on kindness, collaboration, and shared ownership — literally, as all employees are co-owners.

About the Job

We are seeking a very skilled carpenter deeply experienced in finish carpentry, trim, and fine woodworking to complete the 2nd ½ of a very large renovation project. This role focuses on crafting beautiful, precise, and high-quality finish work to complete our natural and sustainable building projects. You will lead by example on site, working alongside a small crew, ensuring craftspersonship that meets our exacting standards.

While you’ll contribute your leadership on the construction site, leading a small team, your primary focus will be hands-on building, especially in the finishes phase — installing trim, elegant transitions of all kinds, cabinetry, stairs, built-ins, and custom wood details.

This position will successfully bring a current GC renovation to completion (6 months - through January 2027), with potential to continue on into other company roles if the fit is right.

New Frameworks welcomes applications from people of color, trans and gender-nonconforming people, people from working-class backgrounds, queer people, and women, and all those committed to an inclusive and just workplace. Spanish speakers and those interested in language justice are encouraged to apply.
