Project Manager - Full Time

New Frameworks is seeking a skilled and purpose-driven Project Manager to join our team and play a key role in delivering high-quality, ecological building projects while nurturing strong relationships with clients, partners, and team members.

This position combines project and account management with team coordination and light office operations, and is essential to advancing our mission: creating buildings that nurture people, communities, and the planet.

Our shop and offices are based in Essex Junction, VT, and this position is a hybrid of in-person and remote work.

Our company is a language justice organization, with both English and Spanish being used as core languages, so being interested in becoming functionally bilingual is a requirement, and coming with language skills in each language is a plus.   • Project Management & Customer Account Management (30 hours/week):

    1. Work closely with all production leads to ensure all projects are done on time, on budget, and to the client’s satisfaction

    2. Responsible for Client relations & communications for projects

    3. Create and maintain work agreements and contracts with Clients

    4. Coordinate and manage high-level project schedules with the Project Team

    5. Initiate, oversee and close out any Permit processes with municipalities

    6. Oversee project budgets, with regular project accounting in coordination with the Project Team

    7. Communicate project financials with Finance Manager to assist with cash flow planning

    8. Organize and run internal team meetings to coordinate efforts

    9. Manage trade partners and subcontractors scope, schedules, and estimates for multiple projects

    10. Collaborate with Design Lead to manage client selections and interiors

    11. Administer change order processes

    12. Assist with the estimating and planning process for developing projects

    13. Facilitate energy efficiency incentive programs requirements for clients

    14. Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and an ability to manage information in a clear and streamlined manner

    15. Provide project management services to aligned build partners on Casita or Panel GC projects, if vetted and properly contracted.

    16. Optional/bonus: Demonstrate good speaking and people skills, and attend events and trade shows to promote New Frameworks’ products and services

    Office Management (10 hours/week):

    1. Help oversee physical plant and spaces: offices, shops, facilities

    2. Assist with maintenance coordination

    3. Assist with Inventory processes 

    4. Ensure spaces are properly fitted out for the needs of the company

    5. Assist with company internal communications

    6. Set up, maintain and share out systems and structures for files and document sharing

    7. Help respond to members’ inquiries

    8. Assist with setting up and maintaining company meetings, gatherings, and other events to build culture and internal development

    Cooperative Member Responsibilities:

    1. Participate regularly in quarterly All-Company Meetings and committees to help steer direction of the company

    2. Participate actively in interdependent, team-focused company culture.

    3. Have a passion for being an owner in a worker-owner cooperative design/build company.

    Requirements: 

    • Able to work well independently, as well as manage a small team of co-workers 

    • Thrives in dynamic, undefined environments—skilled at transforming complexity and grey areas into clear, actionable systems

    • Strong organizational and administrative abilities

    • Good computer, software, and technology skills: Google suite, Zoom, Smartsheets, Excel, and both PC and Mac platforms

    • A dependable team player who desires to work with other members in the company with a focus on our shared Vision and Mission

    • Able to manage occasional fast-paced or shifting work environments


    Preferred Experience/Characteristics:

    • 5+ yrs experience in the construction, energy efficiency and/or high performance building world (preferred)

    • 3-5 years experience in project management and customer service (preferred)

    • Strong interest in developing ecological products to build a Circular Economy

    • Professional and succinct communication skills in person, on the phone, and through email

    • A willingness to engage in conflict productively and proactively

    • Ability to track hours and manage project details on web-based information management systems (training to be provided) 

    • Meticulous attention to detail

    • Bonus computer skills: Quickbooks

  • As a full-time member of the team, with a competitive hourly rate and robust benefits, you can expect a total compensation package of:

    • $28-35/hr (dependent on experience and performance)

    • 80 hrs paid Vacation/year
